With nearly 700 dedicated members, Healthcare Volunteers of Venice supports the advancement of the entire health system. We accomplish this goal by assisting the professional staff in providing comfort care to patients and their families, by raising funds, and by granting scholarships for continuing medical education.
A wide variety of opportunities are available throughout the health system for volunteers ages 14 and up. Prospective volunteers are interviewed for placement, attend an orientation session, and receive on-the-job training. The minimum commitment required is four hours per week on an ongoing basis, with seasonal placements available for at least four months.
